Our History
Ganz Plumbing Co. was established in September 1976 by Bill Ganz Sr., a resident of Florida since 1961. Bill started in the plumbing trade in 1968 after graduating from high school. It was after completing a five year apprenticeship program where he got his experience working on high rise condominiums, office buildings, shopping centers and schools in Broward County. He later became a general foreman for a local plumbing contractor.
Unfortunately, due to the severe construction recession of 1974, the company he worked for went out of business causing him to make the decision to start his own business. With one pickup truck and a helper, Bill started Ganz Plumbing Co. by following dump trucks around Davie to job sites where they would leave business cards on barbwire fences in hope of getting the opportunity to bid on the plumbing work.
As time went on in the 1980s, with the construction side of the business growing, he expanded to include the service department. This department has become a large part of the business today with the help of two of his sons, Bryan and Brad. The company also employed Bill’s sister, Rosemary, who does a great job handling the phones and managing the office.
The construction side of the business is mostly managed by a longtime dedicated employee, Bruce King, who started with the company 25 years ago right out of high school. Bill Ganz Sr. is still involved in overseeing the daily operations while always stressing the importance of quality work, reliability and good service to all customers.
